Post Harvest Wins Hearts - The Doreto Promise
At Doreto We Harvest mangoes at the right maturity stage and during cooler parts of the day (early morning or late evening) to minimize heat stress and reduce latex flow from the stem. We remove excess latex immediately after harvesting to prevent sapburn and staining on the fruit surface. This can be done by trimming the stem and placing the mangoes stem-end down for drainage. We Handle mangoes gently to avoid bruising. Use padded containers for transport and ensure that harvested fruits do not come into contact with soil or decaying materials, which can introduce pathogens. We keep harvested mangoes in a cool, shaded area to reduce respiration rates and prolong shelf life. Ideally, transport them to a packing facility as soon as possible. We ensure that the packing area is clean and free from pests. Workers should practice good hygiene, such as washing hands before handling fruit. We Conduct routine inspections for signs of spoilage or disease during storage and before distribution to ensure only quality fruits reach consumers.
